If your motivation is to sell photographs, or collect praise on your website for your work, you're not really a photographer. You're seeking validation through photography. Become a photojournalist if you must be paid to take pictures. This will cure you of photography. Instead, find your validation outside of photography and then pursue photography on its terms, not yours.
