I notice minutiae. It's the little things that have an unending capacity to irritate and perplex me.
Take the following example: It may in fact be a common practice in most homes to place a used dish it the sink and fill it with water. I can understand this. I'm guilty of this.
Last week, at work, someone soaked their dish in the break room sink. Not a crime, per se, but I should point out a critical detail: it was a styrofoam coffee cup.
Someone enjoyed their tasty beverage then thought they were being very smart by first soaking that disposable styrofoam cup in the sink.
It was eventually emptied of its standing water, but rather than being tossed it away, it was inverted and left to drain by the edge of the sink. It was still there today, draining. Perhaps it's not yet dry enough to throw out. I just can't say.
