Early Morning
Mon Apr 21 2003

The truth of the matter is that early morning light is gorgeous to shoot in. When I'm roaming the city at dawn, my eyes are fresh and hungry, the light is soft, and everything is at its beginning.

You can see things in a different way precisely because the angle of light favors discovery. At noon, with the sun terrorizing and scorching everything directly beneath it, I personally want to retreat inside, or better yet, call it a day and go home.

Of course if you wait for sunset, you'll get a repeat performance, only from a different direction, and it's every bit as lovely. For me, however, I don't want to be out walking the streets when the nightlife begins to crawl.

I'm a coward.
