Today, deciding it might be fun to wander Haight Street and do some shooting there, I headed for the famed Haight & Ashbury intersection. It was around noon. No parking spaces were available near the intersection.
No problem, I thought, I'll just begin circling; surely I'll find something.
Slowly (read: over the span of an hour) my circle became a spiral, growing ever-increasingly larger, until I was at least a good mile or so out from my actual destination.
So not only did I never find a single parking space, I never saw any cars leave any parking spaces, even way off in the distance. I mean to say, no one moved their cars. Period. I left, defeated.
Clearly, heading into The Haight at noon on a Saturday was the original flaw in my planning. Oh how wise I've since become.
